An Essex frame that I built up.

This is an "enhanced" blued Essex frame.  It is the enhanced model due to it having a beveled mag well, undercut front strap (area that your finger rests under the trigger guard), and a .25 cut for beavertail.  This frame features a McCormick hammer and sear, and beavertail.  The trigger is an STI.  I don't recall who made the extended thumb safety.  It also has an Ed Brown MSH.  I put a slide from one of my Colt's on it, and it ran great.  It had zero malfunctions.  My opinion on the Essex frames:  The couple that I bought were all dead on as far as holes, machining etc.  They were all bought in 2007.  One benefit of the Essex is that mine came with the plunger tube and grip screw bushings already installed.  This is a big help to the beginning builder.  The only complaint that I have is that they do have rough machining marks (rough meaning that you can see them on the sides of the frame).  Not a big deal if you are going to put time into sanding the sides flat.  Leep in mind that you have to remove the grip screw bushings to do this affectively.
